Universal Tailoring Only Does Quality Work
--
I cannot state how impressed I am with Nena's skilled craftsmanship. She is kind, dedicated and does incredible work, particularly with lovingly worn garments you don't want to get rid of. Finding a skilled, honest and reasonably-priced tailor is like finding a good mechanic; you want to tell as many people as possible, because it's so rare. In her shop below the price list it reads: "We only do quality work" and that's absolutely true. Her work is second to none and you will be glad you trusted her with your garments, because she is an absolute pro.
Nina is our fairy godmother! We had ordered a bunch of outfits for my daughter’s wedding online for ourselves and bridal parties. Some of them didn’t fit properly and Nina worked her magic! The outfits all worked! Nina is the friendliest person and the most capable seamstress I have had the pleasure of meeting!!!
Went to Universal for the first time because the zipper on my heated vest was worn out. Figured it would be worth $50. Or so to replace as I heard zippers were pricey to replace.A very pleasant lady, Nina looked at it and immediately identified the slider as the problem. She replaced it and charged me $5.00. That's Five dollars and I was out the door in 5 minutes. Highly recommend and she is only 5 minutes from my home. 5/5 in 5. Heck of a deal!
TL;DR: Excellent quality, fast, affordable, really nice owner
Nina (Nena?) is one of the best tailors in town, in quality, speed, and affordability. She's skilled and experienced, but also kind, honest, and upfront. If she says she can do an alteration she will do it, and it'll turn out really well. I had my jacket sleeves shortened, which can be tricky due to real button holes, and it came out fantastically.
Price wise she's really reasonable, I haven't found anybody cheaper that can still put out the quality work she does. General/easy alterations are around $7-15, with more difficult/time-consuming ones reaching around $20-25.
She's really quick, but it's a small operation and I think she does almost everything herself. If you need a rush order the very next day she'll do her best to accommodate you, but I'd recommend giving yourself a few days leeway, for both your sakes.
