I first started training with Ian 8 years ago, and after a few months together, I was in the best shape of my life. Ian's focus on stability, flexibility, and mobility really helped me focus on the things I used to overlook when training on my own. As an avid downhill skier and cross country mountain biker, these things have become increasingly important year after year. Training with Ian allows me to continue doing the things I enjoy, at a high level.
I first met Ian several years ago in my search to find someone that could help with serious back pain I was having. I'm not sure either of us thought that I could get to where I am now. His approach of making sure I'm moving properly and not compensating by using other muscles has re-wired most of my movement patterns. I look forward to our sessions every week and have recommended him to several other people.
I have had the privilege in being connected to Ian for the last month. I have experienced trauma, and was quickly referred to Ian.
Ian has truly taken the time to gain a deepened understanding of what is happing within both my physical and mental health. Ian meets me where I am at, while gently taking me through movements and breathing that are directly related to my needs.
Ian has a tremendous knowledge within his realm of work and beyond. As a result, he is able to navigate my symptoms through a beautiful art form, that has allowed me to learn new skills in connecting with myself and body. Ian’s gentle and kind approach makes me feel safe, valued, heard, and wanting to continue my healing journey with him. Ian’s approach is nonjudgmental, with a purpose to help others heal, while living the best life possible.
Ian is a cheerleader in the way he celebrates every little accomplishment that I have. Such as being able to balance and breath in a way that works for me. If one way doesn’t work, he stops and we try again with a new way.
Thank you Ian for being a pivotal part in my healing journey, and teaching me how to use breathing and movements, that are teaching me to connect with myself in a whole new and beautiful way. I am worth it!
I have been taking classes with Ian both in person (pre 2019) and virtually altogether for 5+ years. The focus for me and my group has been triathlon and Ironman training. I have always been impressed with the quality and progression of training. Ian is also very effective when dealing with physical limitations/injuries. I definitely would recommend his services.
I am an avid cyclist [150 days/year], skier [20], paddler [30] and novice hunter [8]. I have been training with Ian for 3.5 years, using both online (primarily COVID) and in person sessions. When I met Ian, his comment was ‘Nice to meet you Paul, did you know you have two hundred muscles in your body, and you are using about forty of them?’ Well, I am happy to report that I have expanded my muscle use from forty to about 90 today! The work focuses on proper function vs lifting more weight, and this has been really helpful for me. Most recently while hunting with one of my sons in knee deep snow was able to ‘Elmer Fudd’ through the forest without the use of a walking stick [I could not have done that last year]. Additionally, Ian has assisted in rehabbing from some substantial injuries – thank you Ian for the great work in the past and in the future!
