This is an excellent studio for equipping theatre actors with the necessary skills for film. Joe has an incredible wealth of knowledge and approaches each scene with warmth and support. The sessions focused on audition techniques for film were especially useful. In fact, I recently booked my first speaking role in an ACTRA film thanks to skills I gained at Company of Rogues.
The education I received at Company of Rogues provided a solid foundation to build my acting career upon. The instructors are committed to bringing out the best in students in a safe and comfortable learning environment. They way they adapted to and addressed Covid measures, to continue providing quality education, demonstrates the professionalism of this studio.
My first experience with Rogues was in the Essentials of Acting in the late summer of 2019. As a mature student, read that as much older than the average, I was nervous of even trying. But, when I called to ask about classes, I was assured by the person who I spoke with that it was never to late to try.
Aaron Coates was very patient, supportive and made the classes a fun experience. I had a very positive learning experience.
In the spring of 2020, in the midst of the Covid shut down, I attended my first Essentials of TV and Film with Joe-Norman Shaw via Zoom. Now, 2 Zoom sessions and an in person session
with Covid protocols later, Joe’s classes have helped me learn more about myself as well as the craft. It was time well spent and I look forward to continuing to learn from Rogues in the future.
Thank you Company of Rogues Staff.

Did "student for a day" and it was great! Students looked, acted and spoke of their sheer enjoyment of taking classes here. Teacher Aaron was very warm and welcoming, gifted me a pamphlet of info as well as website. I didn't look or go out back but from 17ave there isn't a wheelchair accessible entrance which is why I give 4 star. Otherwise my experience there was awesome! Made to feel at home and offered coffee, water and shown around a little. I may be applying to a workshop here in the future! Office is a little small but they have done well with their limited room.
I have taken classes with Company of Rogues for over 3 years. Having no previous experience and coming to this “hobby” late in life, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But what I found is that all of the instructors are patient, kind and offer great advice to fine tune and guide your acting path. My “hobby” pays me money now because of my commitment and of the instructors! And I’m still coming back because you can’t stop learning!
