Faculty of Law

The Faculty is aware that improvements need to be made and is in the process of doing so. The building is modern and has many amenities compared to other institutions. The professors are friendly and the classes are interesting.

That being said, I wish they had a stronger connection with Calgary employers. Why is the name of one of Canada's leading law firms on the library if they are just going to hire from Vancouver and Toronto? Students should be aware that obtaining employment is squarely on them and no meaningful assistance is provided here.

I really enjoyed Law school here, even when it was gruelling. I feel way sharper after this degree. Super interesting, positive experience. Consistently high quality of instruction (compared to 3 other degrees). I definitely recommend it. I feel like the professors really supported me. I was not a big fan of the pressure to find a job after law school. It would be nice if we were automatically paired with articling.

The law library is a great place to study. There are cubicles that are designated to law students, but you can use them if no one is around. It's quiet and clean. I would not have loud discussions or phone conversations in here though.
