So glad that I was able to do a portfolio review with Lee Nordbye. Lee's invaluable critique has helped me feel way more confident in pursuing the next phase of my black & white photographic journey. I so appreciate Lee's comments and constructive criticism. Lee also provided a recording of our virtual session and a copy of his slide deck commentary which allows me easily retrieve his insightful suggestions and apply them to my new images. Participating in one of his workshops is now on my bucket list!
Second Chance at development of skills:
I had a second chance to share a workshop with Lee. This time it was a three weeks Monochrome workshop held on ZOOM with 50 people from our Camera Club. The feedback from all that took part was very positive. It was online yes, but you felt like you were learning in the field.
Lee added assignments and reviews of those online with great feedback. Well worth it. I would say well worth looking into working with Lee for your personal development.
Field Workshop:
I spent four days with Lee guiding us through a very unique Photography Workshop this past weekend. Lee guided us through Kananaskis Park and Banff area to high meadows to capture the fall colours. "The Larch Experience".
Lee's passion for the art of photography is inspiring in helping drive your own creativity, it was an experience I will never forget.
I would recommend when you are considering looking for a Landscape Photography Adventure, throwing in some hiking, you can not make a mistake take a course with Lee.
Just returned from Lee's Luscious Larches and Landscapes workshop. What a lovely and inspiring experience. We hiked to some wonderful locations in order to capture these beautiful trees at their best. Lee's enthusiasm for creating stunning, dramatic images is infectious. He was able to guide us through the classroom time and in the field to capture images that went beyond just the basic. As well his vibrant personality carried us along even when Mother Nature didn't cooperate as well as well as we had hoped (yes, it was rainy). He was great at spending time with each individual to help bring out the best in their work.
I would definitely attend another workshop with Lee - the weekend was jam packed with information, opportunities and friendship.
Lee provides awesome workshops, I have always been told that if I was serious about photography, that I should invest in education as well as glass. I was not disappointed, Lee is a very good teacher, he makes sure you understand the concepts from a technical side, but far more importantly, from a creative side, he has a passion for what he does and it shows in his work. His humour and great story telling will make you feel right at home in a wonderful environment. I highly recommend his services, rated above the amount of stars allowed.
I just finished a photography workshop in the mountains with Lee called, "Monochrome Magic in the Mountains." What an epic experience. What made it epic??? Lee, and his adventurous, kind and warm personality. He enthusiastically shared his love and knowledge, for capturing bold and dynamic monochromatic images in the mountains. He never tired out and provided us extreme value for close to 50 hours! He carefully planned the 2 1/2 day adventure for all 8 participants. I feel like I have met a photography friend for life and I will certainly sign up for more adventures in the future. Lee makes you feel like anything is possible and his workshop provided huge inspiration to keep capturing more. As a photographer with a background in a creative field, I still learned lots about the creative process in black and white photography. Lee connected well with all of his students. He provided continuous and constructive feedback on all of our work and encouraged us to get out of our comfort zones and try new techniques and perspective points. He provided us with solid, takeaway information to use out in the field! If you are looking for a fun and uplifting weekend in photography, you should definitely sign up for one of his workshops!
