Aurum Lodge

haven't been here for a few years.. but always loved it here and recommend this everytime someone says they like he this area. I tell them it's a of the beaten path and a great place to really relax and enjoy the outdoors

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Aurum Lodge. First, the owners were very accommodating and allowed us to shift our stay at the last minute due to unforeseen circumstances, twice even. Our room was very big and very clean, breakfasts were lovely and they were extremely flexible with the time - they even prepared coffee for us for 6am when we wanted to leave early for a popular hike.
It is a bit far from Banff/Yoho/Jasper but there are hiking options in the area as well.
It may not be the place for everyone though. It is more remote, has a slow internet connection that is turned off between 10:30pm and 6:30am and no cellular reception - worked great for us though.

The hosts were welcoming, striking the perfect balance between friendliness and respecting our privacy. Opting for one of their cozy cabins, I was delighted by the level of comfort it offered. What impressed me the most was their pet-friendly policy, which is often hard to come by. The fact that they provided a dog dish, extra bags, and even a dog towel showed their thoughtfulness and attention to detail.

The lodge also went above and beyond in providing a delightful ambiance. The wood stove, complete with kindling and pre-cut wood, added a rustic charm and ensured our stay was cozy and warm. I was also captivated by the beautiful wildflowers that adorned the surrounding area, creating a picturesque and serene atmosphere.

Aurum Lodge surpassed my expectations in every aspect. From the gracious hosts to the comfortable cabins and pet-friendly amenities, every detail was thoughtfully taken care of. If you're looking for a tranquil mountain getaway with exceptional hospitality, I highly recommend Aurum Lodge.

I had such a wonderful time at the lodge - 5 days in March that offered a perfect balance of relaxation by the fire (inside and outside of the accommodation) and exploration of hiking trails nearby. The hosts are helpful and they even bought me a present for my birthday that happened to be during my stay! I highly recommend the lodge to anyone who loves the mountains and discovering new hiking grounds!!!

We just spent two nights at Aurum Lodge, in the 2 bedroom self-contained unit, and absolutely loved it. The location is incredible - easy to find off the highway but secluded and surrounded by the most wondrous natural beauty you can imagine. The unit was meticulously clean and well supplied with everything we needed, even thoughtful doggie treats. The owners were very gracious and helpful yet discreet - allowing us privacy but always accessible if we needed something or to provide directions or recommendations. We would return here in a heartbeat! Thank you Alan and Madeleine for a truly wonderful get-away.
