Absolutely so happy and thankful for Erin at PawsUnleashedAB! She has helped us understand our dogs behaviours and to have patience in training her (and ourselves) it takes a lot of work and consistency to train a dog and Erin gives a lot of guidance and taught us how to use training tools properly with her along the way. We live in the SE of Calgary and the 2 hour drive is worth it for us! I could go on and on how she has helped us. We paid for one on one classes which wasnt a “set amount” of classes and the price is worth it, (which now looking back for what we got/ get is not even a lot!) now we get lifetime group classes. I signed up for a shadow program through Paws Unleashed Ab in fall of 2019 and I’m forever grateful for the experience! I’ve been a certified trainer since 2013, however I’m always looking for more ways to get hands on experience. Erin’s program has a ton of hands on work to help get yourself emerged into the world of dog training! I stayed on the property for 2 weeks with my personal dog in a super cozy RV and worked from 9-5 every day with all the dogs Erin had in for either board and train, daycare and even her private lessons; I also got to work with her personal dogs. There is no shortage of hands on here. I learned different methods of training, along with how to use certain training tools like the e-collar. In the evenings we had downtime’s and reflected on the day. Erin also helped me with the planning of my own business. I could go on and on about how fantastic Erin’s shadow program is! I highly recommend it for either dog owners or dog trainers. For the dog owner that either has an awesome dog or a challenging dog, you will find fulfillment and ultimate acceptance into the Paws family. Trainers that are new to the training world, or trainers that have been a part of it for a while, I’m sure you will learn something from Erin and her unique play style of training. I’m happy to have both Erin and her partner Tara as a part of my family. Thank you Erin for everything you do ❤️

Our dog had been involved in a fear bite incident and we knew we needed help. We had restrictions put on our dog by local bylaw and required an evaluation on our dog by a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT). Conditions were placed on our dog until we could go through the legal due process, which was rescheduled over several months due to COVID-19 and other court delays.

We met Erin through a recommendation from a well-known trainer in Eastern Canada that has had experience with dogs who have struggled with social interactions and socializing with other animals.

We explained the circumstances to Erin of our situation over the phone, she suggested and agreed to do a free of charge 1 hr. evaluation session, and we met the next day at her facility in Condor Alberta .

The next day we met with Erin and our dog, within 5 mins of interaction. She immediately showed us our dog had built up anxiety and how she could address it with the correct structure, guidance, and training for all of us. She assured us we would have a great balanced dog, if we were committed to follow her training and guidance. She suggested private lessons, which included unlimited group classes when we would be ready. The group classes are used as relationship building between handler & dog to help address any maintenance that might be required should a given team have difficulty with the tasks and assignments.

A week later we started our first private class of six, every week for six weeks. Each session included new challenges and at-home exercises/homework that the whole family was required to participate with. Erin introduced us to her group classes after six weeks as she felt we had made significant progress with our diligence in following her lead.

Erin’s training seems effortless and is not a one size fit all or blanket approach like I have witnessed in nearly every other trainer and class. Erin understands each human and canine are different and have different needs, that all households function differently and that everyone deserves a chance to learn. She is constantly evaluating the emotional states of both dog and handler to apply her skills and training, so to redirect the energy between them to create balance and trust that is required for success!

I have had dogs all my life, I have been involved in dog sports, I have titled one of my dogs, attended several obedience & puppy classes from all across this region. I have worked with many trainers but when I needed help the most many of those trainers couldn’t or wouldn’t help me! Her group classes are like no others I have attended as Erin doesn’t fear animals or seek to try and control them or change their personalities. She’s truly a behavioral coach like no other.

Erin and her team have a great set up. They plan each group class to be fun for all, yet they keep the challenges and activities balanced for all to benefit. Erin and her team give one-on-one direction as required, as all are involved in getting to know you and your dog. Paws Unleashed has something special to share and you really feel like you’re part of a community!

We believe that Paws Unleashed saved our dog and our family by mentoring us to a better relationship with not only our dog involved in the incident but also our older one. We will be forever grateful to Erin and her team for these successes.

These guys are absolutely phenomenal. They worked wonders with our dog, provided a ton of training material, and continued to provide help when some of his unwanted behaviour started resurfacing. We did the board and train program and I would highly highly recommend it to anyone. Erin and Vanessa are very knowledgeable, extremely helpful and friendly. If you're in southern Alberta and are looking for a trainer, especially for a dog with some issues, look no further.
