Nordegg Museum

Just a few displays now. They're working on more. We took the upper mine tour. 1.5 hours.
It was very informative and worth the donation. I'll be back to take the lower mine tour.

On the way to Rocky Mountain House and saw the Nordegg Museum sign got here and then decided to eat at the restaurant and got blown away by the excellent food. It is simple home cooking food, sandwiches, salads and pies. It was very busy which testifies to it’s good food. It was a little pricey but the service was fast and the Blueberry Mango pie with a scoop of vanilla icecream at the end was awesome. Don’t come here for the Museum instead come for the food.

Staff here is very friendly and always willing to help you find information or tell you the best local sights. Mine tour is full of information that you definitely can't find anywhere on the internet. You can even look into some buildings on the mine site. Nordegg is such a cute little place to explore, but don't expect huge amenities like Banff as the local permanent population is only 80 people! Pie at the Miner's Cafe in the museum is also 10/10. Highly recommend!

They offer a tour of the coal mine which I haven't done yet but the museum display is "traveling" or something so there is nothing worth paying to see in the "museum". Cutest building but I wish they let me know there was nothing special to see before I paid. Hope they set up proper museum displays soon, I love museums. Everyone I encountered was very friendly though.
