Just went and saw this food bank and met the wonderful people who run it. It’s incredible work they are doing for their community and for further communities. This type of selflessness deserves a lot more than five stars

I have to take a moment to let everyone know how amazing this place is!

Inclusive, barrier free access to food, clothing and harm reduction supplies. For folks that are struggling, or folks that are living rough, this is an opportunity to get a hand up.

Food sustainability is a passion here. There is a fish farm that waters the plants for the greenhouse area, recycles through the rocks to be filtered and cleaned then cycles back in with the fish. The greenhouse operates year round providing produce for the food bank.

There is a drop-in/warming area for anyone needing as well with internet access, lots of books to read, gaming system etc. You won't get bored hanging out here!

If someone doesn't have access to a kitchen, they can help with that as well. There is an AHS approved kitchen on site.

For us indigenous folks, there is a year round sweat lodge inside one of the greenhouses and there is a tipi for ceremonies/wakes etc. available as well. There are most traditional medicines growing in or around the property as well.

An amazing group of people runs this place. If you were ever looking for a a wonderful place to volunteer - I would highly recommend Rock Soup.
