Hillcrest Mine Disaster Cemetery

The grounds were beautifully maintained at the monument and in the cemetery. I was impressed at how much history was presented on the boards around the property. Thank you to all who keep this area looking so nice.

I enjoyed the history here and the stories inclined only imagine.

ON my way out I ran into an old timer gent who had familial connections to the disaster.

What a great story he had. It's a little out of the way but by all means take the trip. It won't disappoint.

A desperately sad story of the worse mining disaster in Canadian history. This should be taught in every canadian school history lesson. A bigging memorial to those brave souls who risked everything on that fateful day. I feel privileged to have read their stories. A must visit.

A great place to show respect a time in history told in stories all over this place. Met an old man who knows the baby survivor who landed amongst the tops of the rocks. What an honor. I've been here before but during these times of social isolation sometimes you appreciate things more the second time around highly recommended a journey through here :) spring time would be better so you can truly respect your surroundings along with the graves under your feet
