A good historical park that highlights various eras in the history of the city of Edmonton. There's a lot to see and experience, so you should have a few hours to spend to fit it all in. There are staff in era appropriate clothing that you can interact with and ask questions of. Definitely above way to spend an afternoon!
Easily my favorite place to spend a nice summer or fall day in Edmonton! Rich in history and such an enjoyable place to walk around. They have amazing events throughout the year as well. We make an effort to go several times a year. What a joy to visit!
It is very interesting going through the buildings and looking at the artifacts on display. Lots to see and do in a day! Could use a few more educational programs throughout the day to learn about Alberta's history, but still a good place to visit!
Edmonton is growing and Fort Edmonton sure does remain the same. Bringing the kids and wife to share the same ambience as I did years ago in present time is hard to come by now a days. Love it.
Rich and diverse in history, the Fort is the prime historical attraction in Edmonton as it has reconstructed the city's history in a real playground that you can traverse easily. Buildings are stocked with informational signs or people dressed in period clothing happy to talk about the history and importance of the location, and the buildings are life-sized and explorable, although some are not. The food is alright, not amazing but the park functions more as a full-day attraction. It's best to go during a seasonal event or during the summer, when Fort Ed is running on high gear!
Fort Edmonton Park, Edmonton Head back in time at Canada's largest living history museum. Named after an early European settlement in the area that is now Edmonton, Fort Edmonton Park brings the city's history to life with original buildings and replicas.
