Summerlea Place

What a place to call home! This is the most wonderful place I have ever rented. While it is true that some say their monthly rents are expensive; I disagree wholeheartedly.
While it is true that they offer some real rental incentives that is not the reason I have chosen to write this review. My review concerns the way I am treated here by all the staff members I have met either in person, or by phone.
As with anything these days, things happen and stuff breaks. Everytime something breaks here it is a wonderful experience. It makes me so happy to live here!
I have called this place home for more than 1 year now. Some stuff which broke include a washing machine, and a clothes dryer. Once I had a problem with the toilet.
The latest incident was an emergency situation which inspired me to write this review.
It was January 5th, 2018 at 10:40pm and I am at the Superstore picking up some groceries when I get this phone call from my wife. She tells me that there is sparks happening in the oven. I asked her to shut the oven off and told her I would be right home. I got home and looked in the oven to discover the lower element was broken.
At 11pm I called the 24 hour phone number for Boardwalk and declared I had an emergency situation. I explained how my wife was expecting to bake goods all night for a filipino birthday party tomorrow afternoon. I explained how it was a true emergency and it couldn't wait until tomorrow.
I described the make of my stove and offered to pull it away from the wall to get the model number. The lady who answered the 24 hour phone line said it wasn't necessary and she had a maintenance man call me.
Mr. Danilo called me and I described the situation. He did not argue with me. He said he would try to help. Approximately 11:25pm he showed up with 2 oven elements in hand and said "hopefully one of these will work."
At midnight Mr. Danilo walked out of my place and my wife was baking again.
I have lived at many different places over the years and I have never dealt with such a lovely group of professionals. Try to think about it for a minute ~ wouldn't you laugh if someone called you to come out and fix an oven at 11pm? It would be easy to say no - I can't get parts until tomorrow!
I would like to urge anyone looking to rent ~ check out Boardwalk. Unfortunately for me, I had to move because they decided to raise my rent dramatically! When I say dramatically I mean $200 per month and take away my free cable and internet which cost about $140 per month. I didn't want to move but I guess they were tired of having a good tenant who always paid his rent early? Maybe they thought I would swallow the $340 increase and stay? All facts considered I now pay $120 less than I did at Boardwalk with no regrets to moving.

Quiet and nice neighborhood. Good maintainance although some units need upgrades. Utilities are high for only 2 or 3 adults that are most of the day away. Maybe because appliances and furnance are old and not energy efficient.

Use to live here before I had kids with the hubs. A great size and layout for 2.
