Great place to learn about the Metis Heritage. Beautiful country side.Loved every minute of it. Met President Audrey Poitras there.
I was excited to see this place and it didn't disappoint. Enjoyed the personal tour and listening to all the history. Lily Rose 's bannock cooked over a fire on a stick inspired me to make my own bannock. Loved hearing the history on the 3 sisters grown in the gardens. Enjoyed hearing the history on how a buffalo hunt was managed between the women and men. Even saw a photo of a very distent cousin Edward Cunningham (1862-1920) who became the first Canadian Metis from Alberta to be ordained as a Roman Catholic Priest that is featured in the small museum that is on site. This visit brought me closer to my metis roots and encouraged me to learn more. I love being a strong metis woman.
Great food, great place to visit and good walking trails. Arrived to pick saskatoons with my mother but sadly were too late in the season but still had some great tasting saskatoon lemonade.
Amazing kids were so happy. The tour was informative and educational.
The staff on point. Straight up clean facilities. Tasty food. Quick polite service.
Under some renovations but no delay on the tours.
Overall wonderful day had by all!
This place is going to be unique and amazing once its done. The interpretive center is lovely on the banks of the river. It will preserve and showcase the history of the Metis people. There are plans for a lodge, cabins, gardens, entertainment venue showcasing Metis music and numerous other attractions. We quite enjoyed ourselves.
