An excellent place for summer or fall camping. We were in the E loop which has excellent playground and beach amenities for children. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was some of the maintenance has not been done on things like the volleyball court and some of the site markers. The sites are a little close together but if you are camping using multiple sites it is ideal. A straightforward drive from Edmonton, this is a great weekend place to spend quality time outdoors!
Location is nice, not to far from Edmonton. Some of the B lots were very secluded. The icecream store has very large scoops which were delicious!
There were lots of warnings about the Blue Green Algae in the lake, so please for the animals keep your dogs away from that water!
Nice, reasonably clean Provincial park. We used the day area where we found room to properly social distance, enjoy a day of sun out of the city and a light lunch at one of the picnic tables. Lots of trees providing shade. Lake had "swampy" smell probably due to 30+C temperature. Boat launch and several camping spots here too. Concession not too far from small beach area.
Great lake with smaller beach but lots of sand and grass Boat launch and camping. I heard good fishing but not sure types. We used day use area which had plenty of campfires and tables. Come early for good parking. Concession on site and fairly reasonable pricing. Area is tidy including change rooms and washrooms/ garbage receptacles available. Overall, was a wonderful "get out of the city" for our first visit and will most likely visit again. Lots of trees and shrubs around also.
The sand was really nice and clean, as was the water and concession stand! Water was also very shallow, which was perfect for kids. Because the day use beach was pretty small, I appreciated the staff at the gates turning people away to maintain space for social distancing. Would definitely come back since it's not too far outside Edmonton and made for a great day trip!
