We come to Wyndham a few times year.. We prefer a tent trailer, cook over the fire and camp to get away from noise and have some peace and quiet and listen to just the outdoors. As Opposed to people that need to tow a house and feel the need to run their generator all day long! Park staff are great! Friendly and efficient.. If you are early enough there are sites that are fairly private and not far from city.. If your not REALLY a camper and need showers, flush toilets and running water. This is not the place for you!!
Love this campground. Started camping here last year and keep coming back. It's a great place to go if you want to go camping but cant go to the mountains. The river is right by and for families with kids there is a decent sized playground in one of the loops. Its quiet and beautiful.
Spent a week with family, 3 children under 3 and 4 adults 2 teens. Wouldn't let us pay the whole week even tho we knew we were staying. We had 2 full time cars parked and 2 that came and went as work still needed to be attended. We were quiet as to not interrupt other campers. Well, we were in the first little spot as soon as you turn in. We were there for 2-3 days then the lady became extremely ignorant. Out of nowhere told us we needed to be out by 11am, and 2 of the vehicles needed to be gone in an hour. So we packed the entire trailer and our belongings and moved further into the site since it's separately owned. She sat in her truck and watched us pack it up, it was uncomfortable. Since my daughter still isn't walking the grassy area we were at was perfect so she could still crawl around. Unfortunately when we moved there was only rocks, didn't bother us much we really enjoyed the rest of our vacation. Just beware of the crazy lady. Really upsets my family as we have been camping here for 40 years.
Nice campground close to Calgary. Nice river valley location. Some camping spots are quite nice and tucked into the trees while others are quite open, so caution when booking. The comfort camping there is quite nice too. Only complaint is there's no privacy between the 4 comfort camping spots and they're very close together. Finally, out houses only for washrooms, nice out houses, but out houses non the less.
This is a beautiful campground, and conveniently located less than 1 hr away from Calgary. The sites we have stayed at over the years were all very large and had lots of trees for privacy. We enjoyed the hiking trail too. Highly recommended.
