The Green family would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the management and staff of the Staywell Manor. Our mom had lived in the manor community for 3.5 years and during that time she was cared for by a devoted staff. All of our dealings with the manor management were cordial and all facets of the operation were always carried out with moms best wishes in mind. Over the few years the family got to know the front of house staff, kitchen staff and the wonderful caring medical personnel that undertook all of moms needs. Even our dog Scarlett was welcomed to visit mom and received a treat for tricks she would do for manor residents in the lobby. Mom passed away at the of 92, peacefully in February at the manor and it was with great sadness that we said good by but it was made all the better for the attention from all of the manors caring personnel. Kind regards “The Green”s.
Our mother, Linda, spent the last three years of her life at Staywell, following the passing of our father, Glen. The two of them were happy, contented residents of the Huntington Manor when Glen died, whereupon, after a short hospital stay, Linda moved to Staywell to be closer to us. Despite being recently widowed, Linda thrived at Staywell, and spent over three happy years in assisted care receiving incredible care and support from the LPNs and PAs. She had many complex health care needs, which were all managed extremely well - and this continued when she moved to memory care for the last six months. Several LPNs in particular were extraordinarily compassionate in attending to both Mom's physical and emotional needs, and went so far beyond what the "job" required that we were regularly amazed by their commitment to their calling. They know who they are - and we thank them from the bottom of our hearts. Finally, it was a great comfort that Mom was able to remain at Staywell until the end. From everyone in Linda's family - thank you.
My mom lived at Staywell Manor for 6 years both in Assisted Living and Memory Care. My mom was not always easy to care for and I was always impressed how patient and caring the staff were. Last October she passed away in her home at Staywell Manor. All the staff provided exceptional support to our family during this difficult time and I miss my visits to Staywell.
Thank you for the many years of thoughtful, loving care for my Mom. She and my late StepDad called their move in 2002 to the Manor at Garrison Woods one of the best decisions they ever made. When they needed a higher level of care they transferred to Staywell Manor and before his death he made sure Mom was in a suite in the Staywell Memory Care wing. She spent the last seven years of her life there, well cared for by everyone -- the personal care attendants, the wellness staff, the cleaners, and the administration. Everyone spoke with her kindly and with affection. She died, in her own bed, last month at age 104. It was her home and we could not have asked for a better one.
This residence is really beautiful and well maintained. The staff is genuinely happy and cares about the residents. They organize activities for special occasions and have special outings for the residents. There is a salon within the residence and a spa. There is not a lot of turnover in the staff - it's evident that they enjoy their jobs and the residents enjoy the happy staff! At Halloween, the kids from the neighborhood are welcomed into the large entrance and are entertained by the residents also dressed up!
