My daughter has been practising Aikido at Calgary Ki Society for 1.5 years. Since joining, we have noticed that her practise in the Dojo extends far beyond the Dojo. We notice her 'Extending Ki' or Focus during many other activities that she does. She often whispers to herself 'extend ki' when she has a challenging physical or mental task ahead of her. Her powers of focus and determination have vastly increased, and we thank Calgary Ki Society for helping to instil the mental discipline that we see in her development. I highly recommend this gentle, defensive and mindful art and the instructors at Calgary Ki Society. We have also particiapted in some of the adult workshops and have gained great value from them.
My kid has been here for three years since she was 4 years old. She loves here. Sensei has been training both kids and adults with great programs for a few decades, he knows what's best and right things for trainees, trainers and parents. Other instructors are professional and friendly as well. Oh, good for us to make many good friends here.
We are very pleased and excited to have found such an excellent program that our whole family can participate in. All the instructors are very professional and helpful. Both the adult and children programs have application to daily life to teaching individuals to relax and stay calm.
A new program has started that features maintenance to your health and wellbeing. We would recommend to all.
Kind and caring instruction in a very traditional and formal style. All the instructors volunteer their time to teach for free despite decades of high quality instruction experience in Shin Shin Toitsu Aikido, Ki Training and Kiatsu as is the tradition with the Ki Society in North America. All dues paid are very affordable and go to the upkeep of the dojo.
If you come to try it out, be prepared for the formal style of training and that Aikido at heart is non-aggressive and is meant to benefit your life in and outside of a fight.
I am really lucky to find this place. I was looking for Martial Arts for my 6 years old son. He has hearing problem and not easy to focus that is our big concern. A month ago I found this place and my son loves to go there and all instrucors(SENSEI) are super nice. If you are looking for NorthAmerican Style Martial Arts maybe this is not you expecting but this is the real Japanese Style Martial Arts. I am Japanese by the way. I highly recommend this place to everybody especially kids. it is very easy to book for trial from website.
