The remarks made by Dale Bowerbank and his friends about Fr. Avinash are completely false. Dale should be ashamed for making these false accusations and encouraging his friends who are not even parishioners of Ascension Catholic Church to make such accusations. Fr. Avinash is a very respectable and honest priest. I have been managing the Ascension church renovation project from the start and took over as the General Contractor in phase 2 of the project. During the entire project Fr. Avinash was very professional and worked hard to ensure that all contractors on this project got paid for their work. Dale Bowerbank worked for one of the contractors on this project. Unfortunately this contractor paid Dale partially and did not pay him the full amount for his work done. This has nothing to do with the church as Dale did not have a contract signed directly with the church as he was a subcontractor to the contractor.

In his negative review Dale also mentioned that he helped Fr. Avinash with his basement. However, Dale worked on Fr. Avinash' basement through my company and got fully paid for this work. So he did this work not as a friend, as he mentions, but as a paid contractor.

I would strongly advice people such as Dale and his friends who write negative and false reviews that their words will have repercussions, as such false comments ruin reputations of innocent people.

In response to Dale Bowerbank's review, I am shocked at his portrayal of Ascension Parish and Fr. Avi. The contracts for any renovation-related items were negotiated by the Calgary Diocese, NOT by Fr. Avi. Your comments are not only defamatory, they are simply false. So you have tried to slander not only Fr. Avi personally, but also Ascension Parish. You state you attend another church, so how can you comment on how this church operates? If you have concerns with your contract, then why are you not addressing them using the proper channels, instead of using Google reviews? If you are going to post such feeble comments, then why not also post your contract? Fr. Avi did not sign the contracts with the sub-trades. There have been meetings scheduled with lawyers to pay the trades. Have you had your legal representative follow the proper procedures? It is very easy to hide behind text posted on the internet.

Also, Haridas Vasanthakumar - I have to wonder if you are actually a registered Parishioner at Ascension Parish. If so, do a few negative reviews by people who so obviously have an ax to grind over their contract really carry that much weight so as to sway you from your allegiance to this Parish?

It seems that people so quickly post negative comments and hide behind the internet. Wow - how brave. How shameful that you have have tried to degrade the house of the Lord and those doing His work.

Instead, come to Mass. See the numbers of people who attend our Masses. Experience the WELCOMING atmosphere that so many people tell us is present. Listen to the Word and listen to our Pastors.

Ascension Parish is an amazing church, and so are the Pastors, the staff and the Parishioners supporting this Parish. You few naysayers cannot undo all the amazing work that is done day in and day out!

Very nice renovations and Super friendly congregation. Services are super long though.

Great place to be in communion with God and for His people to gather to praise and worship Him. Excellent parish, priests, choirs and parishioners. The temple is gorgeous.
