I highly recommend trying classes at this dojang before taking the negative reviews into account. My brother and I started taking classes in 2014 but stopped training after a year and a half. 2 years later, we started training again and were treated with the same courtesy as everyone else, despite leaving. Master Lissa and all the other teachers are very professional and have extensive knowledge about the material they are teaching whether that is stretching/flexibility, sparring, patterns, blocking, or kicking/striking and teach us the skills to defend ourselves as well as values to live by such as courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self control, and indomitable spirit. Every class starts with a mat chat; how we can deal with situations that are affecting the world around us or just about life in general. My brother and I are both teens now and I find that these classes prepare us both in mind and body for whatever life throws at us as we get older. I enjoy these classes because, besides being fun and challenging, they incorporate leadership among the older and higher ranking students by having them help younger students or help lead classes. Through this experience, my brother and I have (and still are!!) becoming more hardworking and confident people who have learned not to quit before we try. I can’t imagine a more constructive and welcoming environment to be learning Taekwondo and growing as a young adult and Ihighly suggest trying classes here no matter what age you are!

My daughter has been going here for over 6 years now. I chose this place because Master Lissa focuses on more than the martial arts. Each lesson starts with a life skills thought that instills kindness, consideration and decency in the young minds on the mat. I joined the adult kickboxing program about 2 years ago and find it a great way to bring some energy and exercise into my daily life. I would highly recommend this place to any person young or small!

This has been a great experience for us. Very family friendly environment. The focus is not just on martial arts but for children, also on learning to be respectful and how to put in the work required to be successful in all aspects of your life.

It's a really great experience. I'm so happy I started taekwondo. Master Lissa is nice when he can and teaches you respect. I highly recommend you try it before being discouraged by the reviews of people who don't understand the experience.
