I went to a workshop at the Fish Creek Environmental Learning Centre and created Hypertufa Planter. It was so much fun and easy to do. They have other workshops that you can sign up for. It is a great place to visit and go for a walk after.
Fish creek park has an extraordinary atmosphere and really brings a certain amount of culture to the city. Its a place of which you go and cannot leave due to its jaw dropping scenery and when you do manage to get out of the place, you will yearn to come back.
A nice place to take the kids for interesting and educational fun. The centre hosts speakers from around Canada who offer fascinating insight into various topics.
The volunteer staff are cheery and helpful, the facility is clean and bright, and there's plenty of free parking.
Lots of info, beautiful walking paths around the park -- well worth a visit.
This place is the woods in the city. Find a quiet spot by the creek and listen to nature. Birds chirping, creek flowing, leaves falling, gophers digging and squirrels running. If you are lucky you may see some deer! Go for a walk or a bike ride. Bring your dog or horse. Pack a picnic and have a bon fire in one of the firepits. This is the perfect place all year around. There are learning centers at each end of the park. This place gives you that camping feeling without leaving the city. This is a family friendly environment, grab a mino net and bucket and let the kids go fishing, the creek isn't too deep or fast. There are also flush toilets throughout the park. Being in the city you have full cellular service. Why are you still reading this? get going!
The annual spring star nights event is a fantastic event for the whole family! We were so lucky to have an excellent park staff that is very knowledgeable about animal which makes our hike very enjoyable! The kids had an amazing time while learning many interesting facts about animals too! A lot of volunteers had their telescopes set up for the viewing of the sun, moon, and Venus. What a fun night!
