This is truly a beautiful place! We went there in late February of 2017 and had a wonderful time. The multi colored ice Palace was the best - especially after sundown - the place is full of different colored lights that glow through the ice of the excellent craftsmanship in the sculptures! We arrived in the early afternoon, stayed until dark and left after 9pm. Took a dinner break in between. Snacks, walks, skating, games, singing, music, horse rides etc - lots of options. Quite a variable and vibrant site to see for people of all ages! It is a great place to take your family or that special someone to!
So we had a great time and that outing was a beautiful moment - one of the best days in my life - that will be etched in time. Truly irreplaceable. Some memories are simply worth cherishing and keeping around and this is one of them. Thank you, Silver Skate Festival, for being around and providing such a variety of fun activities, fun moments and great memories at a wonderful festival! Give the Silver Skate Festival a look see!
Best thing to do in Edmonton. We loved it when lived in Edmonton. Even now this year looking forward to visit Edmonton for this festival

Bring on winter, bring on the snow, bring on the ice, bring on the skating. It’s a great winter festival. The setting at Hawrelak Park is awesome. There are lots of things to do, activities like skating, lantern making, bannock cooking, sleigh ride, hockey and other things. I came with my wife and we both loved being there and enjoyed the festival. This is the first time for us, I know the festival has been around for over 25 years and this is the first time, it was way overdue.
