Got the cakes for my son's birthday here. Great cakes, lovely people. We'll be back. :)
Really lovely and NUT FREE!
Lucy is a hardworking and kind woman, and it was such a pleasure to deal with the actual owner! Did not get to try the fritters or cinnamon buns, but did get to try the brownie, date square, beef roll, carrot cake, and rice krispie (for free bc she's nice!) Nothing was rock your world mind blowing (though I also am missing their two most popular products..) but I can't emphasize how much I appreciate how real and fresh these all tasted, and that's really what matters. It tasted like it's supposed to, and that in itself is kind of a hidden gem. Like a grandma's baking or something good from the farmers market. One thing that did actually rock my world was getting a ham and egg bun with a real egg and real cheese and ham. It was grand.
It was okay. The doughnuts were fresh tasting (no old oil taste) but... they need more filling and glaze on both sides would be better.
WE LOVE LUCY. Delicious cinnamon buns, never thought I would appreciate a cinnamon bun without icing sugar, oh was I wrong. Fresh baked bread, dog treats, amazing cakes made to order, she never disappoints. There is a reason she is a local legend. Would love to see more eco friendly packaging, but the line outside every Saturday speaks for itself. Worth the trip to the south side every time.
Best little bakery. Everything is tasty. I especially like their apple fritters. Do your self a favor and live them a try. You won't regret it.
