Absolutely love the wonderful staff at Rabbit Hill Medical Clinic.
Yasmin and all of the reception staff are truly amazing and so kind. I have been attending this clinic for more than 10 years now and during that time I’ve had to visit quite frequently. Yasmin and the rest of the admin team have always done their best to help care for me. Whether accommodating my schedule to get me in around work times or getting me in as quickly as possible when my condition has been urgent. Their support has been invaluable to me.
After reading many of the negative reviews on Google I must say that I’m disappointed in my fellow patients. It’s pretty easy to sit at the computer and make comments about negative experiences. People are more likely to voice negative experiences than they are to express positive ones. The issues faced by an admin team and by doctors and nurses in our healthcare system make it difficult for them to provide us with the level of support we need and want and yet they do their very best with what they have. And I feel the challenges they face are very difficult ones indeed. From understaffing to the short time allowed per patient to the difficulties faced with locations only to name a very few of those challenges. I’ve attended several other clinics in the past and the challenges are no different in any of them and yet I feel that the staff at Rabbit Hill deal with those challenges with grace and fortitude.
I followed my previous doctor to several different clinics around the city before finally abandoning her care after dealing with truly atrocious wait times and attitudes towards my health by the admin staff, the other doctors, and the real lack of support from our healthcare system to enable them to provide adequate care. At that time I would wait upwards of 2-3 weeks to get an appointment while I was in respiratory distress. I have to admit that at that time I actually gave up on the healthcare system completely and felt that my well-being didn’t matter at all. I attended several medi-centres and after a few years I realized that my health issues required more than just casual attention, that I needed to find a physician who could meet my care needs. I have chronic asthma and I’ve had it since early childhood. Getting a mild cold or the flu can very quickly become pneumonia for me. I tried out several other clinics only to be treated quite badly by both the doctors and admin. I happened across Rabbit Hill Medical Clinic purely out of desperation and need, they were close to home and they accepted walk in patients and they were still a relatively new clinic.
The care I’ve received at Rabbit Hill has been above and beyond any I’ve received elsewhere. No, they’re not perfect, they struggle with the same issues all other clinics do. And I know that as they become busier over the years it will become more difficult for them and for me. However, as stated before, they do the very best with what they have, and I do mean the very best!
I’ve seen several of the doctors in the clinic over the years and they are all fantastic. Doctor Vasanji is my family physician and he is truly the most amazing. He’s kind and funny and listens. He’s helped me where no other doctor has. He’s diagnosed and treated me for conditions that were written off by previous doctors. He’s helped me control my asthma, which is something I never thought possible.
The doctors, nurses, admin and the entire staff at Rabbit Hill really did restore my faith in health care. Not the political or business side, which they have no affect over, but the caring, the reason people become health care providers. These people really care. I assure you that if you can have patience you can work with any of the staff and resolve the issues that you, and they, face and you will receive the best care.
Thank you Doctor V, Yasmin, Ashley, and everyone!!!
The ladies at the front desk are always so helpful!. Dr. Vasanji is the best and so friendly. Best Medical Clinic I've been to, to date.
Dr. Grace Xu is fantastic and I would definitely recommend her as a family physician! However, the front desk staff are awful! I am put on hold every single time I call, and that's IF I can even get through. I've called a ton of times and had the line say its busy and hang up. When I finally get to talk to an actual person, the staff is impatient and rude. They called to reschedule an appointment of mine and when I told them I couldn't make the new time, they scheduled me for that time anyways and then hung up on me.
I have attended Rabbit Hill Medical Clinic since my family moved to Edmonton 10 years ago.
The clinic staff have always ensured our appointments fit with our busy schedules. They would fit us in at the times when we required medical attention in an urgent manner. Especially Yasmin (Head Administrator) who has and still does make that extra effort to assist my family.
Dr. Vasanji is our family physician and I cannot say enough great things about him as a person and as a doctor. He is always proactive, supportive and very caring.
I want to thank all the staff at the clinic for looking after my family!
