We recommend the Waterton Townsite Campground anytime. We camped there late in the season and had access to power, it was awesome! It's a beautiful and quiet place to just enjoy the views.

Very well maintained, clean and hot shower. Highly recommend. Nice lake right next to the campground. Walking distance from all town services including restaurants and grocery.

I recently stayed at the Waterton Town Site Campsite and overall, I would rate it a 5 out of 5; however, there are a couple of areas that could use improvement. The first notable aspect of this campsite is its prime location, situated near the picturesque lake and charming town. Being so close to the natural beauty and amenities of the town added a lot of convenience to our stay.

However, my main concern about this campsite was the lack of privacy. The campsites were quite close together, and you could often feel a little packed in, diminishing the sense of tranquility and seclusion that one seeks in nature. It would be beneficial if the campsite management could consider reconfiguring the layout or add some natural barriers between the sites to create a more intimate camping experience.

Another aspect that left me a bit disappointed was the rule prohibiting fires. For many campers, myself included, sitting around a campfire, roasting marshmallows, and sharing stories is an integral part of the camping experience. I understand that safety is a primary concern, but perhaps the campsite authorities could explore alternative measures like designated fire pits with proper supervision to ensure camper safety while still offering the cherished camping tradition.

Despite these minor drawbacks, Waterton Town Site Campsite has several redeeming qualities. The proximity to the lake provides ample opportunities for water-based activities, and the nearby town offers various dining options, shopping, and attractions. The site's maintenance was commendable, with clean restroom facilities and well-kept grounds.

In conclusion, Waterton Town Site Campsite offers a pleasant and enjoyable camping experience, thanks to its fantastic location near the lake and town. Addressing the issues of privacy and reevaluating the fire restrictions would undoubtedly enhance the overall camping experience for guests. I would gladly recommend this campsite to fellow nature enthusiasts and families looking to experience the beauty of Waterton Lakes National Park.

Camping here was a good experience. The campsites are located right next to the Waterton Lake and if you pick the right site, you could wake up in the morning right next to the lake and the mountains.

It is located very close to all the facilities in the town - restaurants, shops, marina etc. The bathrooms and shower are clean and well maintained. There is a shelter for cooking since the area can get pretty windy.

As the campgrounds are set on a grassy plain, they are an excellent place to camp if you have kids leaving them with a lot of open space. The only concern could be that the campsites are adjacent to each other. Since there are not many trees/natural barriers, you could be camping pretty close to your neighbours esp. if you're in a tent.

If you're camping in a tent, make sure to invest in sturdy pegs (winds) and warm blankets (gets cold at night).

Well maintained campground. In the H area for tents only, some sites are very open and others have some trees. Look at the photos on the booking system before choosing. It's a bear program site, so no food around, there are bins available or pack it in your car. Parking lots are close to sites in H area. Good bathrooms. H site is close to Cameron Bay, a great spot for dark sky watching. Quiet for the most part, never saw a Parks Canada person enforcing rules or quiet hours.
