Ron's work is not only inspiring, its truly authentic. Ron gets out deep into the mountains and captures the Canadian Rockies in a way that many people will never see. His images are first class and reflect his love for the mountains. His service is second to none. You can talk to him directly and he's always more than enthusiastic to help. Also, his shipping is excellent.
I purchased two of Ron's photos for good friends of mine as a Christmas gift. Having lived in Banff for many years, I knew they would appreciate the stunning beauty of the photos, and the quality of the prints, as I had them done on the fine art paper. My friends took a few months to place the photos in various locations around their house to best determine the perfect placement - after having them professionally mounted and framed, they take my breath away every time I look at them. Will be my turn to treat myself next.
Ron has a life time of love and familiarity with the areas he photographs, and it's evident in his ability to capture the majesty and magic of the mountains and valleys of the Banff region. I have one of his photos near my desk to remind me that life is more than just work.
It's been a few years now that I first saw Ron Hallam's photography. I immediately saw an awesome talent. What came to mind first was a new Ansel Adams. Ron must truly love his beautiful Banff surroundings. It is obvious in his work and in how carefully he selects the best time and season to capture a landscape. On my walls I have 5 of his captivating photographs (4 black & white and 1 colour) and wish I had the space for more. My highest praises for Ron at Gita Photos.
If you see the surname name under this review and notice that it's the same as Ron's, you may think: "Just another family member hyping a relative." Well, it's true that I am Ron's brother. But in my professional career running an editorial design company in the UK, and a couple of documentary film companies in Canada, I've commissioned well over a million dollars worth of photography. So I think I know fine work when I see it. And I'm totally chuffed to be able to say, hand on heart, that my brother's work fits comfortably into that category. In fact, I wouldn't hesitate to say that some of his shots are actually great work. I've got one of his shots hanging very close to a drawing by one of Canada's greatest living artists, Harold Klunder, and even Harold's work doesn't overshadow Ron's.
