Timberline tours is the best. We had Syd as our guide for our honeymoon trip and she was amazing! We did the 5 hour ride with Syd and her friend and had so much fun. Syd was informative and fun - she let us know cool facts about the area and gave us information along the ride about different sights we were seeing. We all had tea together at the tea house and chatted halfway through the tour. Timberline tours is more authentic and genuine compared to the other horseback rides which are more commercialized. They also provided horses for our skill level which was nice for someone who had experience on a horse. The owners of Timberline tours are Peyto’s and very sweet if you have the chance to meet and chat with them! We would recommend Timberline tours a hundred times over and plan on booking again (hopefully with Syd) on our next visit. Thank you again!
Pros: Unique horseback riding experience with hills, minor water crossings and views of beautiful Lake Louise. Our guide in the front of our group was also really sweet and took two group photos of us!
Cons: Had to listen to the guest behind me, who works at a horse barn in Banff, complain about park visitors and horseback riding guests with our second guide (located at the very back) for nearly two hours. Was really uncomfortable to know how some of the staff really feel about guests and seemed more like a conversation that should happen after work at a bar. This was the part of the trip I was most looking forward to and it was hard to enjoy the moment due to the excessive jaded comments. ☹️
Also please be aware that the beginning of the ride can be really muddy if it rained recently. Not a huge deal, but just something you may want to be aware of when planning what to wear.
Was a WONDERFUL experience seeing the views! We did the 3.5 hour ride and I would do it again in a heart beat! Our tour guide was AMAZING and the horses were perfect steady mounts with the mix of hikers and dogs along the trail. I would reccomend this to anyone looking for views of Lake Louise that is more quiet and less populated. A memory for a life time as our tour guide took a video of my now Fiancé proposing.
Absolutely stunning. My sister and I did an overnight pack trip and it was one of the most incredible experiences we’ve ever had. Our guides (Syd and friend) totally rocked- they were engaging and fun at dinner but also gave us space to have some bonding time both on the trail and at the campsite. The two day, one night option was good for beginners and well worth it. They had rain pants, rain coats, and hats for us to borrow. You can put snacks, a jacket and water in your saddle bag while you’re riding
This was our second time riding with Timberline Tours. We did the 3.5 hr lake Agnes tea house one but the whole trip actually took around 4 hrs including the stops. The guide we had was awesome, super friendly and always with a smile on. They also provided a neat little birthday surprise for us! Would recommend as they rescue most of their horses as well.
