The rooms and location were great. The lady a check-in was also very friendly and brought us some ice. The only issue was check-out. There were about 8 people waiting to check on Sunday and there was nobody at the front desk. We waited for about 10 minutes, then eventually I went looking for an employee in the attached restaurant. I just left my keys with her, she said they were sort staffed and busy with Sunday brunch.
Well above expectations. Clean rooms with everything one needs: coffee maker in suite, blow dryer, fridge, cable tv, microwave, iron and board, nice decor, wifi, lots of pillows and free coffee at front desk. Yes, coffee is everywhere. A restaurant frequented by the locals, great food and big servings. The attached pub is also the happening spot in town where you go to see and be seen. The management is brilliant. Everyone has a servants heart and they check in with you to ask if there’s anything you need. Like I said this place is well beyond my expectations of a small town hotel. This town has community and that is absolute beautiful. If you are sad at home, stay here you will be less sad, maybe even happy. Great energy here!
The food, atmosphere and people at the Coaldale Inn is absolutely fantastic. Without question my go-to spot for … Sunday brunch, drinks after work or business lunches. Ken, Missi and their staff are super hospitable, take the time to get to know their customers; and will go the extra mile to make you feel welcome.
Overall a good experience. The rooms were simple, Clean and did the trick. My only suggestion would be to wall mount the TV and move the microwave. Then the desk could be utilized for anyone staying for business. Otherwise it was great!
Stopped here for a night in early April when driving from Ontario to BC. Motel was absolutely packed, and the corridor was quite loud (the doors don't go all the way to the floor so you can hear everything happening in the corridor!), with no outside access to the room. But the staff were very friendly and helpful and the bed was comfortable, so perfectly fine for a night.
