Big wild area for lots of recreational activities! Checked out a neat spot on the Oldman River in the gap.
Bob creek is very beautiful, highly under used. Mainly just hunters in the area. Big advantages in my mind are the rules, limited quad access, no campfires, which allows real outdoors people to enjoy a place like this, if you like backpaking away from others its great. The eastern trail is open and very nice, and at night the coyotes are very active, the western trail is very treed and a little rough to traverse in areas, but much more sheltered at night, for camping be sure to bring fuel stove and someway to purify water as the creeks are mudded and they run cattle in the area. As for the animals always nice to see the elk, and nice deer, as well have seen wolf tracks.
Great place to explore and get away. Very scenic.
What spectacular views. The vista of meadows are gorgeous, celebrating each season in its own beautiful way. Spring holds the lovely new flowers, fall with the larch trees in all their golden colours. The added bonus, it was not crowded with people.
