Candice is very talented; not only is she a professional who captures beautiful photos, but she guides you into poses (and will wrangle your 6 groomsmen!) with clear competence but without being controlling. She made us laugh many times through our sessions with her and we were completely comfortable with her from the start. We did both our engagement and wedding photos with her and have loved every photo from both. She was also respectful and friendly with our videographer. She took a groom who is uncomfortable in front of the camera and made beautiful photos come to life! Professional, fun, caring, AND didn't blink an eye over Covid when our plans changed quickly. Candice is amazing. She shot both our engagement photos and our wedding and I could not be happier.
Candice really took the time to understand what kind of photos we like (natural, not obviously "posed"), got to know us and spent so much time scouting locations & getting our feedback on EVERYTHING.
Our engagement photos were at both 3 Mile Bend (as we wanted to include our dog) and To The Lost. Candice was SO amazing with both our dog and us. It felt like a couple hours laughing with an old friend and was a lot of fun. We cherish the photos, and I'm so grateful Candice was so enthusiastic about having the photos include our furry family member, as shortly afterwards she passed away unexpectedly.
Our photos from To The Lost were a subtle, sexy contrast to the bright, fun ones at 3 Mile and there is not a single one out of all the photos I don't love.
Our WEDDING photos turned out even MORE epic. Candice spent SO MUCH TIME researching locations and weather for our September wedding formal photos, and they are absolutely striking. But I think the greatest testament to her talent is the candid photos she captured of our ENTIRE wedding. The people we love, the feeling we were going for, the little details, and those moments.....she somehow captured IT ALL.
And she was right, I loved the quick little break between ceremony & reception where we snuck away to get photos of just my new husband and I. That little bit of alone in between, just the two of us, was everything.
And finally, the video. I didn't really understand getting a videographer and a photographer, but when Candice suggested the idea that she'd get some videos as well, I figured why not?! The result makes me tear up EVERY time. It's not long, but again, she captured the moments and people throughout the day, laughter and tears, just beautifully.
I am so glad we chose Candy Koated for these milestones in our life, and cannot say enough about how great of a person and how talented of a photographer Candice is.
