(June 28, 2019, 5:20 pm)Due to the steepness of the trail few people undertake the slog to this lookout point. But if you're the type of person who likes a small challenge and to take in an incredible view I recommend taking the detour to this point. The view is spectacular. From this point you can get a real appreciation of the Harvie family's vision to turn their ranch into a park.
I wouldn't recommend dragging children up here. They probably won't enjoy the slog, nor appreciate the view. If you're on bikes, you as a parent won't like how fast they'll be going on the way down. I hit 65 km/h coasting and there was lots of loose gravel due to recent runoff.
