Volunteer Strathcona

An organization that works tirelessly to support volunteers and non-profits in Strathcona County! They've hosted some of the best development workshops I've ever been to, including ones on leadership, fundraising, grant writing and non-profit board dvelopment. Many of their projects have changed lives eg. free tax clinics, snow shoveling, meals-on-wheels and driving for senior citizens to name a few. They've also acted as an 'incubator' for charitable projects as well eg. "Gowns for Grads" and "Fund it Forward". I highly recommend subscribing/following their newsletter, Facebook or Twitter to stay informed! In addition, their staff are some of the most driven, passionate, and heart-centered people you'll ever meet, and everyone in their board of directors holds an executive position in at least one other non-profit in Strathcona County, or and/or is employed in the volunteer/non-profit industry. To me, this "altruism as a lifestyle" of every staff and board member can be seen in all the IVC does.
