I finally bit the proverbial bullet this winter and had KS Arms build me my dream hunting rifle in .338 Federal. The stock was a Wildcat Tac Hunter, and they painted it to colors and style from a picture I provided.
All I can say is, Wow!! Did they ever nail it. When I took delivery the first thing I noticed was how light, and comfortable it felt. All in, without scope, was 6 lbs 4 oz, scoped it will be 7 lbs 6 oz give or take. And, it is beautiful!
I have shot it a half dozen times, doing barrel break in, but didn't want to burn a lot of ammo without a scope to dial in. I initially thought it was going to be a little snappy on recoil at that weight, but it was surprisingly mild, like shooting a .308 with 150 gr. And that was pushing 200 gr bullets. You can't beat physics, but a stock that fits with a good recoil pad can really tone down the recoil pulse. This stock does all that in spades, and I can't emphasize enough how good it feels in the hands. It's perfect. If anyone is looking for a great stock, made in Alberta no less, look no further. Well done team Wildcat!
I have a 7mm rem with the ultra light stock from wildcat it weighs in at 5lbs12 oz and I have beat it up with horse back hunts river boat hunts and backpacking it takes some nasty punishment and still works and looks Awesome thanks Stu for a great stock
