Youth With A Mission Turner Valley

I first came here back in 2009 shortly after completing my DTS and SOE in Tyler TX. I had just moved to the area and had heard about the Turner Valley base from a friend so I decided to stop by and check it out. While I was never a student at this location, the staff and students who were there were extremely warm and welcoming, and I often stopped by to spend some time in the prayer chapel and have some quiet peaceful time down by the river. Extremely beautiful location and great people! I have nothing but fond memories of this place.

Pleasant place

I did my SBS in this base 9 years ago and it was a fantastic experience. I must admit coming from Miami, FL to Turner Valley was a bit of a "culture shock". A very small country town, it scared me at first but then I realized how perfect this place actually was. YWAM Turner Valley is a place filled with truly genuine people who care and want to see you become the best version of yourself. As someone who loves history and studying the Bible, this school and place was fantastic for me and I am truly thankful I went here for that time in my life.

They are truly doing God's work. I had just gone through a bad experience with YWAM before coming here, and decided that Turner Valley would be me giving YWAM another shot and I am so glad I did. SBS is a great school, if you are considering it, do it in Turner Valley. Your life will be transformed and as an extra you will get to experience the beauty Canada more specifically Alberta has to offer. Lots of mountains, wildlife, a great YWAM campus life, and tons of genuine Christ followers.

Feels like a fun and homey base! Lovely staff, great hospitality and very God focused vision! Shan people of SE Asia are a focus people group.
