Bodega Beach road (east side of the island) is closed part way along, but from where the road is closed to the park entrance is about a 25 minute walk (for able bodied but lazy people). The park itself is modestly sized, so you can walk all around it in a couple of hours, even with stops to admire wildlife. Note that the entrance from the west side of the island is also closed. You can drive closer to the park boundary, but it is private property between the end of the road and the beginning of the park.
