The Learning Journey Child Care Center

My child has been attending the Learning Journey daycare for almost 2 months. As a parents it was nerve-racking to start my child in daycare for the very first time but since day one teachers at the Learning Journey have made my child's experience so wonderful. Teachers are very kind and supportive. They love children and are there to guide and support them in a kind and loving way. Teachers involve children in various activities every single day. Kids do crafts, they play outside, they dance. They are just happy to be there. As a parent I have been so pleased with my experience and would recommend the Learning Journey to any parent.

The Learning Journey is truly a second home for our daughter. Yelena and her team are warm, genuine and highly qualified individuals who have a true passion for childcare. The incredible team is very attentive to each child and their individual needs, yet they encourage independence and provide opportunities for growth. My husband and I have noticed significant growth in our daughter's social development, motor skills and overall milestones this past year. We are so grateful to be part of our daycare family. As a certified teacher in BC, and a first time mom, I wholeheartedly recommend The Learning Journey.

My daughter has been going to this daycare since the day they opened their doors for business several months ago.

I came to know the owners while they were building this facility, and I can attest that they literally built it with their hands. The facility is beautiful, bright, new and clean. Outdoors play area is big and spacious. The owners are there every single day to overlook the operations. This is more than just a business to them, as there are definitely easier ways to make money than building a day care from scratch and then running it every day. These people truly care.

Pictures are posted day to day, on their app, as well as reminders to bring warm clothing, or swimsuits, to not bring certain foods because there are children with allergies, to locate missing articles of clothing, to inform me of my child’s nap duration. I feel totally connected with the staff, they respond even after hours, which is more than what I can ask for. They have little events once in a while (pj day, costumes on Halloween etc) and go on little field trips to the nearby forested area to explore.

Every request I have has been met (waking after nap, dressing warm etc).

I recommend this daycare to my friends every opportunity I get.

Both of my kids (1&3) now go here and are doing great. It is so hard to leave your kids in the care of others, but this team makes it easier. I love that they get lots of time outdoors and for free play. The facility is clean and they regularly rotate toys to keep things interesting. My son (3) is loving playing with all of his friends, doing songs and circle time, sensory learning, and creative and imaginative play! The staff has been wonderful at accommodating my daughters allergies and have even asked for extra training with their first aid certification. I would for sure recommend it to a friend!

Yelena and all the staff have been a god send for our family. Our daughter was the first child on their list, and has been with them from day one. Yelena has always been incredibly flexible with our work schedules and child care needs, as well as with our daughter’s adjustment to being in daycare day to day. We have received daily communication from the staff in the form of: texts, messages through their private app, phone calls. This has included prompt notification of any typical toddler incidents that have occurred, with our little daredevil. Everyone has done such a fantastic job and making our family, and most importantly our daughter, feel warmly welcomed and safe in their care. As an OT, I also very much appreciate the range of activities and toys that are present. This has included fine motor, gross motor, sensory play, free and structured play, nature exploration, arts and crafts, etc. The thought put into the daily routine and activities chosen is meticulous and encompasses so many vital developmental skills.
