PEXSISEN Elementary School
Pronounced: PUXXSEESUNG (PUXX/SEE/SUNG) is a Lekwungen and SENCOTEN word gifted to SD62 by Songhees First Nation. It means “the opening of hands” or “to have one’s hands wide open”.
Pexsisen Elementary School with a capacity of 500 students, and Centre Mountain Lellum Middle School with a capacity of 700 students. Both schools are set to open in the fall of 2022. School District No. 62. serves the communities of Sooke, Port Renfrew, the Highlands, Metchosin, Colwood and Langford.
