Elk / Beaver Lake Regional Park

This could be Canada’s premier rowing lake. Unfortunately for the rowers the prevailing wind tends to be a cross breeze. A lot of Olympic and World championship medals have been earned on this lake. If you are out in a pleasure craft please watch out for the rowers. They are moving fast, backwards and can’t see very well in their sleek carbon racing shells.

I really Elk Lake and Beaver Lake. It's a great place to walk, run, bike, fish, canoe, horseback ride, and/or boat.

Great trail for running. Is exactly 10k circle. The trail is a mix trail.

Peacefull dogwalk. Great place to socialize with your best buddy. Freindly people and dogs

If you're visiting Victoria or new to the area Elk/Beaver Lake is a wonderful spot if you're wanting to take a leisurely walk, run a 10 k all the way around or just sit have a swim and a picnic lunch. Both beach areas have play structures bathrooms and picnic tables. This spot is one of my favourite places to walk. There is only one " hill" and really no craggy rocky formations that would be difficult to get around. Puppies are welcome off leash as well as horse friends and there are also separate trails for bike rider enthusiasts. The lakes are both fish friendly so bring your pole if you like and if you go early enough in the day you can watch Canada's Olympic rowing team hard at work!!! On the Elk Lake side there is also a boat launch if you prefer that to just laying on the beach! So whatever your hobbies or interests in the out of doors this is definitely on my top 10 list!
