Adam Hanna Ballroom Dance

I have been taking private lessons with Adam since 2017. I first started taking lessons with Adam after purchasing a large number of Dance Vision Smooth and Rhythm American Style DVIDA Syllabus DVDs. After learning that Adam taught the DVIDA syllabus, which has been adopted as the official American Style syllabus of the Canadian DanceSport Federation, I was interested in taking private lessons from him.

I have had a couple of different dance partners during the time I have taken lessons with Adam. Both of my partners found Adam very helpful, and I have also found his lessons to be very good. Adam has comprehensive knowledge of the Dance Vision American Style syllabus as well as many of their other dances. So far, I have worked on DVIDA Syllabus American Style East Coast Swing, Rumba, Cha Cha and West Coast Swing, ISTD Syllabus International Style Rumba, Samba, Cha Cha and Jive as well as the UCWDC Syllabus Country Two-Step.

Over the years I have taken dance lessons from many instructors. I still take lessons from multiple instructors and find that very beneficial. I have found Adam to be one of the friendliest and most knowledgeable of these instructors. My current dance partner and I have competed in several competitions, dance demonstrations and medal tests under Adam's guidance. I have no reservations whatsoever recommending him to others. For those that do take lessons with Adam, I strongly recommend that they also consider a Dance Vision membership so they can review the material Adam covers in the private lessons over and over again at their leisure. The Dance Vision resource material strongly complements Adam's personal instruction. It is a combination of instructional resources that just isn't available with other local instructors.

Adam has been my teacher for over 3 years and we have danced together in many pro-am competitions and performances. He is an engaging and encouraging instructor and very knowledgeable. Despite the pandemic restrictions and the challenges of "distanced dancing" I have progressed from American Style Smooth & Rhythm Silver Level to Gold figures in most dances. I recommend him unreservedly as an instructor for both beginners and experienced dancers. And he is a lot of fun!

As a complete beginner, I appreciate Adam’s welcoming approach, depth of knowledge, flexibility for scheduling, as well as the organization and communication with which he runs his business. Highly recommend.
