South Prospect Lake Park

Trails still snow covered and very icy on the steep parts. Hiking poles were a necessity for this geezer. Enjoyed the day with my 3 younger companions.

This is a small, undeveloped lakeshore park, with several trails down to and along the lake. The first part of the trail from the parking lot to the lake is moderately steep, but levels out after about 100 meters. The parking lot is small, holding about 10 cars, but there is some parking available along Prospect Road. The lake is fine for swimming and fishing (trout and bass). The trails are basic, just dirt, with a few muddy areas when going through marshy sections by the lake - insect repellent recommended! On the upper levels there a few few small meadows and rocky outcrops for views.

This entire region is beautiful.

Absolutely stunningly beautiful. Like most of BC.
