Awesome baked goods, not too sweet but with lots of flavor. I came here probably like 5 times and enjoyed the various cakes like the carrot loaf, brownies and lemon bars and the blueberry loaf. The maple bars and the quiches are absolutely stunning. Great that this place bakes with butter, an unprocessed nature product instead of vegetable oils. I also like that the shown price is the final price with taxes included. Very transparent! The service is friendly but not heart warming. One thing should be improved: adding little tags to each cake stating the name and ingredients because I had to ask on every single visit a couple of questions and it seemed that annoyed the clerk.

The baked goods here are homey and irresistible. When you walk in you are essentially in their kitchen. You can watch (and smell) the food being prepared. The menu is small but they do have savory and sweet options. Aside from the insanely good pecan bar we devoured, the baked goods tend toward the less sweet side, which we find preferable to the overly sweet goods sold at many bakeries.

Jana made our wedding cake and additional treats for our July wedding. Her cake was exquisite! The treats were displayed in a way that flowed with the rest of the wedding in such a beautiful way. None of this compared to the taste though! The flavours were incredible. There is no way on this google review to tell you how amazing she made our night. Everyone said the lemon curd wedding cake was the best wedding cake they had ever had. I couldn't stop eating it. The additional treats were made with seasonal fruits and baked to perfection. We had a few treats left over (as we ordered several extras) and I eat them for breakfast! I can't stop. If you have a wedding on Salt Spring or anywhere else for that matter, choose this bake shop.
