Sydney really made a difference when she was working with me and my rescue pup Shiloh. He was very skittish with a lot of things & loud noises and Sydney was able to tailor her training to accommodate Shiloh's needs. I get plenty of compliments from people who knew Shiloh before he started training on how far he has come with Sydney's help and guidance.
I cannot say enough about how awesome Sydney is!! We really struggled to walk our 117lbs 2year old Great Pyranees/Border Collie x Dog Arlo. Little did we know, much of it could be corrected by simply changing his collar. In the end, Aftet taking a few of Sydney’s training classes, I’ve discovered that it was me who needed the training more than Arlo. He’s actually a pretty good boy. I highly recommend her! She really knows her stuff!
Sydney is a competent and skilled trainer! I highly recommend her. She helped me gain confidence and tools to be able to communicate and guide my dog through her leash reactivity issues. I can do things with my dog now, that I didn't think possible a month ago.
Sydney was a great help with our puppy Boomer. We’d already done some basic obedience with him at a younger age and started doing classes with Sydney when he was about 7 months old. We worked on improving his leash walking skills, recall, socializing, facing some of his fears, taking him to new environments among many other things. She was very professional and patient with our enthusiastic little guy! Thanks so much Sydney we’ll definitely be contacting you again in the future.
We are so grateful that we came across Sydney and Focus K9. Our Mini Aussie (Tucker) was so full of energy and excitement that walking him, passing other dogs and having company over was almost impossible. He was having no part in the traditional training techniques and tools that we were using from reputable videos and books and we were at our wits end.
Sydney came to our house for the consult and was friendly, professional and began giving us amazing ideas and tips right away. By the end of our first session Tucker was in love, lol. He took to Sydney quickly and responded to her techniques and commands with ease. Sydney gave us “homework” that was specific to Tuckers needs and always made sure that we practised these during sessions until we were comfortable and familiar enough to be practising on our own. These techniques were easy and manageable and most importantly, really made a difference! Sydney also sent us homework /information sheets online that related to our sessions and also followed up after each session with a personal email to ask how Tucker was doing. I also really appreciated that she was easy to talk to on our training walks and was someone who’s company we enjoyed.
After an 8 session private package, Tucker graduated today. Together my husband and I (and Sydney) strolled through the busy off leash dog park at Beacon Hill with our pup (almost 2). He was calm, greeted other dogs appropriately, responded to our commands and corrections on leash and was successful. I can’t even begin to express my gratitude, my relief and my excitement at this new future with my furry boy.
We will be doing follow ups and group walks with Sydney to be sure that we continue to stay on top of our new found training skills and to be sure that Tucker still gets to see her 😉.
Thank you Sydney! We will be forever grateful for your expertise, your passion for the field and your professionalism. You made a difference in our world 🤛 !
