I dislike it when businesses charge an insane premium for wedding stuff. I called and asked about dry cleaning a formal dress, she said around $60. I bought my wedding dress used for *very* cheap and needed to dry clean it (they did a champagne pop and it had some very old splatter on it, we're talking a few years). When I brought the dress in she quoted me over $200. I pushed back a little bit, saying grad dresses are less. She said that grad dresses are sleak, one layered dresses, unlike wedding dresses. Not really, but ok. Wedding dresses are more work, they take extra care and press it, etc etc. To be clear, my dress is a larger ball gown, but all one fabric, no detailing or beading. Anyways, I told her I didn't want it pressed and she dropped the price down to $100. She quoted me a few days and about two weeks later I called to follow up. I never received a phone call or voicemail. The lady on the phone said the owner called me and it was ready. I guess they don't do follow up phone calls. I 100% did not receive a call -- phone record to prove it :P
Here's the kicker: EVERY STAIN WAS REMOVED AND DRESS LOOKS GREAT
tldr: charges a premium for wedding dresses, friendly helpful staff, but did not call when it was ready. All stains removed and really pleased with the service.
So, I've never had anything drycleaned before. I was hesitant about some vintage pieces I'd inherited from my late grandmother being drycleaned, as I read some horror stories (not about individual) on the internet about clothing being ruined, and one of my dresses has a pretty delicate sequin design.
That was absolutely not the case, my dresses have honestly never looked better! They no longer have that musty, vintage smell, and the colours look more vibrant than they've ever been! They treated all my items with excellent care.
They were also able to remove stains from my boyfriend's shirt that we totally thought was a lost cause, so he was super pleased too.
I can't believe I waited this long before "discovering" drycleaning 😅 But I think I picked the right place!
Individual Dry Cleaners are amazing. I had brought them my favourite jacket that had been covered in acrylic paint and they got all of it out within a day! I was very much expecting it to be a lost cause due to the type of paint and the sheer amount of it on the jacket but they somehow pulled off the impossible, and in a very timely manner. The staff were all kind and amazing as well!
A rare form of excellent service. I don't know exactly which lady helped me or what her name was, but - what a legend. She took her time to check my cushion covers and actually recommended I get new ones since the existing would fall apart while being cleaned. It takes good business sense to do this; ie - not charging me for nonsense that won't help. I got new cushion covers. When their affiliate drycleaner called to charge me anyways, the same woman sifted through ancient invoices to determine that the subcontractor had screwed up, then called them and sorted it out for me. Incredibly helpful, incredibly nice and will return here in a jiffy to do all of my drycleaning. Lovely people.
My clothes came back looking like new! The customer service was very friendly and cheerful. It did seem a bit expensive - $35 for a skirt and dress, there was an extra charge for removing cat hair (there was a lot), but I don't dry clean often so I'm not really sure if this is the going rate or not. But as for quality of work, very nice!
