We had a wonderful time with Marjanna. She is very acknowledged and super patient. We had two lovely but crazy dogs… 😜 We couldn’t confidently walk both of them together at beginning. After the sections with Marjanna, dogs had impressive improvement👍 We learned many useful tricks. I can’t say enough thanks for being patient with us all the time. We will definitely keep it touch! Thanks! Huego & Meimei
We started taking our springer spaniel puppy, Indie, to the Middle Earth Canine Academy shortly after we got her. We had around 10 private lessons spread over about 4 months. First I will say, it was amazing coming here just to see how excited our pup got (She would practically drag us from our car to the front door). It was always a positive experience for Indie, it worked her brain, and she picked up new commands faster here than anywhere else. Marjanna absolutely has a way with dogs. Indie is normally a very distracted dog and she had almost no impulse control when we got her - but somehow from day 1 Marjanna could get Indie to do all kinds of commands (some we had never even taught her).
Personally, I found the private lessons extremely helpful as a first-time dog owner. While she worked with Indie a lot, my wife and I were just as much students as our puppy was. Marjanna helped us through all kinds of issues with Indie: impulse control, leash chewing, leash pulling, not eating, barking on walks, anxiety when we moved, and she even had some advice with things like pink eye or tick bites. Marjanna always followed up our lessons with paper handouts so we had something to review as we worked with Indie outside of class. She had a really professional way of providing feedback to us as owners and she has extensive knowledge of why dogs do what they do.
From a business side, it was an awesome place to have classes. Her street isn't busy, her hobbit house is cozy and calm, and there is a fenced area outside the door. Marjanna was really good at being prepared for classes and was always courteous. There were 1 or 2 instances where she was sick and unable to attend class, she arranged for a substitute at short notice and even made up the lessons with us in full at a later date!
Marjanna provided us with guidance but we also put in 30-60 minutes of training with our puppy every day (usually on walks). We were open-minded to her feedback and respected the recommendations she made to us. If I had to do it over again or if I had to make a recommendation to a family member or friend, I would absolutely tell them to go here!
Thank you again for your help
PS: Indie has adjusted wonderfully to our new life in Kamloops!
What a fantastic place!
My dog Sophie began going to see her for training almost as soon as we welcomed her into our home at 8 weeks. We loved going there to her cool little hobbit house for quality training sessions, which adapted over time with our level of understanding, as well as Sophies' maturity and ability (as any training should). She guided us through the puppy stages right through to Sophie's graduation this past Spring. We now have a very well behaved dog, but more importantly a deep knowledge of how she got that way, and all the tools necessary to ensure it doesn't change. The trainer has a great approach and I know she would be happy to take a call from us still if we had any questions, or of course have us back for any refresher sessions or more advanced training should we decide we wanted it.
Five stars for a reason! Highly recommended.
Marjanna is extremely knowledgeable and confident with her training. The homework she gave us made our home more calm and balanced. Our dog Marley graduated “Basic Obedience” program and we noticed improvement every week. Marjanna taught us how to train our dog step by step.
You will not find a better trainer for your dog. One of the best decisions we have ever made is training my dog with Marjanna. Thank you for everything again. - David, Ellie and Marley^^-
We are first time puppy owners and had a 10 week course with Marjanna. It was absolutely worth it. Marianna is very knowledgeable and experienced educator. She helped us lay a solid foundation for interaction with our dog. She gave us many tips and tricks and answered many questions we had. Having one-one-one classes was very useful, too. Our puppy just loved coming to the classes! Thank you very much!
