Fry's Red Wheat Bread Bakery

Not usually one to write reviews. I've grown up with my parents owning a French bakery and man, this bread/croissants and pastries are out of this world!

I LOVE this bakery, and it has quickly become one of the biggest highlights of moving to Vic West. The morning walk, the lovely lineup where you can chat amongst locals and neighbours, waiting to order the absolutely most delicious pain au chocolates (and bread) I’ve ever eaten in my life (and as a previous flight attendant, I’ve eaten many). The croissants literally transport me to the cobblestone streets of Paris, the puffy flakiness and the tops, almost caramelized and slightly crunchy, offer a natural sweetness and enjoyable crispy layer with a solid amount of delicious, gooey (sometimes still warm!) real chocolate inside. This is hands down the best bakery I’ve ever been to, and I’m grateful it exists. I look forward to trying the pizza!

Busy when opened. This bakery is high end and pricey. Their quality is top drawer and as their sign indicates, They make and sell pretzels of superior taste, texture, and mouth feel. A wide variety of breakfast and brunch treats are very tempting and universally delicious. Prompt, friendly and efficient, they are worth sampling at least as much as your budget allows. They would have 5 stars from me if there were daily bread specials and tipping wasn't so mandatory.

It's so nice that the status quo of Fry's is friendly, approachable service. They act like they want to be there, they're welcoming, and are happy to provide recommendations. I've tried a few of their products and have been more than satisfied every time. THIS is a local business that keeps the small town charm and will keep me coming back time after time. I hope that other businesses will see them as a role model in the industry.
