Halcyon Hot Springs Resort

The food was good, but SUCH a rip off. A scallop mushroom risotto was 50$. Luckily I ordered from the kids menu due to lack of vegetarian options, but it was still 10$. The portions were ridiculously tiny. They don't post prices on their online menu so you don't realize you're paying 50$ for a 5" diameter dish until you're paying. I'm not one to leave bad reviews.. and I don't want this to reflect the resort itself because our room was fantastic, pools are great, views are amazing, and the staff has been really friendly! The food was good, but know before you go that it's pretty expensive. We didn't want to drive back to Nakusp so we stayed on site, our mistake for not asking prices. Maybe they'll update their menus and add prices.

We just stayed here for 3 nights and enjoyed ourselves so much!
It was quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Just what we needed for our birthday celebration. The food in the diningroom was delicious, a bit pricey but we really enjoyed it. Our server, Kennedy, did so much to ensure that we were pleased. The pools were amazing. Clean and well maintained and the perfect temp. Thank you to everyone that ensured our stay was enjoyable.

Kingfisher restaurant was excellent quality, although limited hours, brunch menu fantastic, the house bacon eggs meal was probably the top 5 breakfast in my life. Dinner menu also great, black cod great, pan fried chicken phenomenal moist and tasty. The chef sure knows quality.

Awesome fall get-away. Spent 2 nights In a cabin with no kitchen. Was the only down fall as the restaurant didn't open for brunch till 10 30. But on the positive side it made us go into town. Super nice accommodation beautiful scenery. Restaurant was good for dinner. Pool's fantastic. And the spa is misleading by looking at it from the outside but was a fantastic time

Just thought we should make it known that, first of all, the chef was AMAZING at the king fisher restaurant.
And Melissa up front was just incredible as well. They both went above and beyond to make our stay the best to their abilities.
Unfortunately, I have never had such poor service in a restaurant before.
We were the only people in the restaurant and had to yell to the back to ask for something 15 minutes after our food had arrived. Never came to ask how the food was once.
Secondly, never once asked us if we needed anything. She would come take a plate not say a word and as quickly as possible scurry away..
Once we finished our meal, we again waited over 15 minutes for her to even look our direction, which she never did.
Finally we walked up and asked if we had to pay up front and she acted all shocked replying “oh are you ready?”
Never was asked if we wanted desert or if we wanted the bill.
Very unfortunate as this place has so much potential but just blow away with how poor the service from this server was.
