As a dog trainer in the Comox Valley, I was overjoyed with the arrival of a Fear Free veterinary hospital. Veterinary care is something all dogs and cats will need throughout their lives and with positive training, it can, and should be, a positive experience for your pet.

My own pets are patients as well. I am reassured knowing treatment is done with care and consideration for my pet’s emotional wellbeing, sparing them as much discomfort as possible. My cat suffered compiling medical complications which sadly lead to his passing. I am truly grateful for remarkable medical care Dr. Muzzin and Diana provided with such compassion. They softened the difficult process of losing a cherished pet.

The staff and vets were very attentive and caring with our kittens, and took a lot of time to explain in detail all of our care options. I will definitely go back! Krista Huxham the veterinarian was excellent.

I moved to the island and valley three months ago, and thanks to a Facebook review I saw that Island Tides was accepting new clients - I signed my girls up and I am so glad I did. My puppy Marci had some bladder issues and they were able to get me in same day. Dr. Muzzin was kind and described everything to me. The clinic is clean and inviting, and they’re Fear Free Certified, which after working in Vet Med myself says a lot. The team is required to do a certification to find the safest, and kindest approach to bringing your pets in as it can be an incredibly stressful thing and many pets dislike the vet. If you wanted a vets office that really cares, check them out while they’re hopefully still taking on new clients!!

The team here is absolutely phenomenal and have gone above and beyond for my beloved kitty and I. They have been extremely supportive and communicative during a very tough time for me. It is very clear that they are passionate about their jobs as they have done everything possible to help my cat Harley through some serious health issues. I have trusted them through this whole process and I know my Kitty was in good hands. I’m pretty sure my cat Harley would happily spend her days here getting love and attention from these ladies!! What a truly incredible team, I highly recommend this vet.
