Quiet with a nice view of the Royston wrecks and Comox marina
We needed a place to stop between Nanaimo and Campbell River. We stopped here and were surprised by how nice quiet and family friendly it was. Parking right beside the area. Clean area with picnic tables. Dogs allowed on leash. Beautiful views and you can walk the beach area if so desired. We would stop here again if we were in the area.
Beautiful covered picnic shelter with area for cooking overlooking the Comox harbour and the Royston Wrecks. There are usually a variety of seabirds along the shoreline to watch and occasionally marine mammals like seals, otters and orca. In addition to the covered area there are some socially distanced picnic tables at which to eat.
This oceanic waltz includes many birds and crustaceans, quaint ocean front homes, other people out for their walk in the fresh air, and some interesting history on some of the Royston ghost ships and their origins. For what it is, if the weather is nice, it's quite enjoyable. Also, the seagulls love smashing oysters open along the road here, twas a good show.
Gorgeous views of the Comox spit across the water and the Royston ship wrecks. Very nice wooden picnic tables interspersed along the Oceanside. The road has very little traffic and the area is quite tranquil.
