Our daughter had - in her words - “a thoroughly enjoyable experience”.
My name is Oliver and I'm in grade six, I was here about 4 hours ago for a big school Feild trip that lasted 5 days, it was very fun, although I think more free time would be nice. Edit: I cought a really big fish on my first cast ever in my life here, would recommend.
My kids (age 8 and 6) had a fantastic time at Blue Lake camp here in Fernie. Due to COVID, the usual overnight camps were cancelled and the staff did a great job at re configuring their programs to create day camps in various communities. My 8yr old did 2 weeks and my 6yr old did 1 week. They both loved it and came back each day with big smiles on their faces and excited to share lots of stories. Be prepared to do laundry each day ;) They loved their counsellors (Bubbles! Swiper! D-Rail!) who made every day super fun.
Whilst I hope the overnight format is able to return next year, it would be amazing if the day camp format was able to continue....something to think about!
Since overnight kids camp was cancelled due to COVID, we opted to go to camp as a family this year which Blue Lake offered as an alternative.
We had so much fun going to camp with our kids (ages 3, 6, 9)! Fishing, nature walks, swimming, canoeing, campfire songs and great food were enjoyed by all. They can't wait to go back next year. Thanks to Bubblez for being such a great host.
