Great Spicy Chicken sandwich, tender, juice, onion rings need a lot of work... damp and spongy...

Popeye's has excellent Classic Chicken and Spicy chicken sandwiches. That really is their best item these days.

The friends chicken, while still decent, isn't the way it used to be or still tastes in certain parts of the states. Much drier and less flavourful than it used to be or is at several locations in the states that I've been too.

This difference might have to do with Canadian chicken, being leaner Idk but I think they'd do well finding a way to hold the moisture in better because the chicken has definitely gone down hill.

That said... The sandwich, the tenders and the nugget are all still very good and much better than several competitors.

I'm giving 4 stars because while I can get what I like there now and those menu items really are very good. What I like has had to change as I used to LOVE the chicken. Now, not so much.

Fist time at Popeyes and they did good. Fast service (considering 6 people in line) competitive pricing with simmer restaurants. Noodle salad is overcooked but still tastes great. Get the poutine, totally worth it. Original recipe is crisp, moist and tender. Spicy is where it's at. All the original, but Louisiana style.

Best chicken around. Beats out all the rest in my opinion. A wonderful change from kfc or the usual.
