Chilliwack River Hatchery

Great little hatchery! Awesome for children to see salmon up close and learn a little bit!

Very interesting place indeed! Early November, I got to witness how high the salmons can jump in boundless wasted efforts to swim against the streams to go back to its source! It was an experience for me! The locals can also distinguish the wild salmons from the farmed salmons !! What an interesting life!!

Easily accessible via highway one. It’s place very educational to both kids and adults, but remember to check with official website for the best time to come! Although the hatchery is open year round but visit at the wrong time in the wrong season means you probably will see nothing in the river!

We stumbled upon this place on the way to Chilliwack lake. No frills, self guided, follow the signs and stay out of the way of the people working.
It's great that this is open free to the public.

Such a great place to take your kids to learn about the salmon hatchery. Good amount of parking, totally free, and of course a ton of cool salmon at various stages of growth in different outdoor ponds and tanks.
Our 3 year old loved seeing the fish jump swim, and we learned a bunch too!
